Our partners
As an international company operating out of China, we thinks it's important to help local charities making a positive difference to the country's development. We also understand that travellers today are more aware of the problems facing the countries they visit, and more often than not want to help make things better for the people they meet and their future generations. Therefore, eight percent of Bespoke Beijing's profits go to two local charities: Roots & Shoots and PTE China.

“Roots & Shoots is an international hands-on environmental and humanitarian education programme, with the goal of supporting young people to bring about positive change – for our communities, for animals and for the environment. The Roots & Shoots Programme in China has been widely successful in providing a platform for young people, in schools of all levels and universities, to organise extra-curricular environmental, humanitarian and animal protection activities in their local communities.
With over 400 R&S groups across China, the programme is building awareness and changing the behaviours of tens of thousands of young people. Using Bespoke Beijing means you will be contributing to Roots & Shoots training for local teachers, introducing new methods that promote student leadership and creativity, while encouraging youth environmental stewardship.”
Erika Helms, Executive Director, Roots & Shoots.
R&S is the primary programme of the Jane Goodall Institute in China. For more information, go to www.jgichina.org/en | |

The other charity that Bespoke Beijing supports is PTE China. PTE (Prevention Through Education) believes that education and provision of clear, accurate information are the most effective tools in the fight to prevent a generalised HIV/AIDS epidemic in China. PTE develops teacher training programmes and curriculums for students, and has created the world's first online HIV/AIDS peer counselling/education website, where people from across the country can come to ask questions and get advice. So far, our efforts have been very effective. We have taught thousands of students, and thousands more young people have visited PTE's peer-counseling website to seek information and advice.
By using Bespoke Beijing you will be helping PTE (Prevention Through Education) to develop and run programmes to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS, giving young people the knowledge they need to protect themselves and others. At the same time, you will be contributing to fighting the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV/AIDS, which prevent people from being tested and hinder efforts to slow the spread of the AIDS epidemic in China.
